Written By: Joseph Gillespie Intuit, Inc. creators of the popular accounting software "QuickBooks" said today that it will be including Google Software, including search and advertising tools directly into future versions of it's products. Google, Inc. is racing ahead against Microsoft & Yahoo in attempts to secure exclusive contracts with software developers. This recent deal between Google & Intuit is one of many in the recent months that Google has secured ahead of it's rivals. Intuit has also announced that it has made another deal with StepUp to provide another set of new advertising related features in it's QuickBooks software. Intuit has paid $60 Million to StepUp for this alliance. Intuit and Google said in a statement that their alliance will be based on trying to help small businesses be able to reach more consumers by ways of having internet advertising built directly into QuickBooks 2007 products. The new Google features to be included in the next versions of QuickBooks include the ability for businesses to list themselves on Google Maps, integrated AdWords management, and the ability to list products for sale on Google's new "Google Base" feature. Intuit also plans to embed Google Desktop into QuickBooks 2007 in an effort to allow businesses locate customers and retailers quickly and easily from their desktop. Let's put software that stores information on google's servers in a financial product... I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
